Private Lessons
For those who prefer a personalized, one-on-one experience, Cornerstone Tactics offers private lessons tailored to individual schedules and goals. Students choose the topic and set the pace, making each session focused and efficient. The instructor will begin with a brief consultation to understand the participant’s current skill level and desired outcomes. Students are welcome to bring their own firearm.
Private lessons are $125, with an additional $50 for each extra participant. To schedule a session, please email Doug Zurbriggen with your preferred dates and times.

Course Descriptions & Requirements
Concealed Carry Weapons Course
The Concealed Carry Weapons course is designed to satisfy the requirements to obtain a state of Illinois Concealed Carry permit. Your training will encompass both classroom and live fire training. Our instructors also provide you with a complete overview of the basics of managing unknown contact, basic shooting skills, situational awareness, and equipment/clothing considerations as well as justifiable use of force. Students will be required to pass a practical shooting test involving 30 rounds—10 rounds at 5 yards, 10 rounds at 7 yards, and 10 rounds at 10 yards. You must achieve a 70% in the scoring area of the target. You will have two chances to qualify. There is no shooting training or practice involved, just the qualification. The course is a total of 16 hours over two days or over four evenings. Prerequisite(s): FOID card and a good understanding of the safe use of a handgun.

Topics Covered
Updates to Illinois or federal firearms laws governing concealed carry in Illinois. Updates on use of force laws and IL criminal statutes. Appropriate and lawful interaction with law enforcement while transporting or carrying a concealed firearm.
Pistol Red Dot Course
Objective: Provide the students with the knowledge and skills to properly demonstrate proficiency utilizing reactionary shooting skills and mRDS.
Evaluation:
Practical Exercises
- Students will be instructed in reactionary shooting techniques and methodology.
- Students will demonstrate reactive shooting through multiple scenarios and range exercises utilizing mRDS.
Training Option & Recommendations:
- Students should initiate training static and dry fire drills and work up to live fire drills.
- Practical exercises (Pistol Course)
- Students have demonstrated knowledge and proficiency, it is encouraged to introduce mRDS scenarios or drills where use of force decision making is applied.

AR15 Introduction Course
This 4-hour course lays the foundation that all future rifle training will rest on. Safety, range etiquette, weapon operation, accessories, fundamentals of fire, shooting/ready positions, rapid target acquisition, target transitions, clearing of stoppages, rapid fire, and fighter mindset are the main subjects tackled in this essential course. Though this course is built for beginners, the subject matter and technique is designed to allow students to build realistic skills that can survive the test of stress and small-time constraints.

- Rifle/Carbine (NOTE: This class is specific to the AR15 platform. AK’s, bullpups, and other platforms are not accepted)
- Slings are required. 2-point slings are preferred
- AR’s must have an optic or iron sight
- 250 rounds of ammunition Please do not bring any steel cased, steel core or armor- piercing ammunition. That includes green tip or M855.
- 3 magazines
- 1-2 magazine pouches (not necessary, but helpful)
- Appropriate range attire (long pants, closed toed shoes, brimmed hat, thick belt) Please do NOT wear a red shirt – this is the color your Training Counselor will wear
